2015 Layout from Creative Kuts

2015 New Year Layout
Creative Kuts - designer
Creative Kuts Page on Facebook

Recipe:
  1. Paper from PixelScrapper Digitel Scrapbook
  2. 2015 title, rockets and starbursts from cut file by Creative Kuts
  3. Frames I created in Make the Cut software, saved/exported as png file and than retweaked the files in Paint.net
  4. Champagne glasses  from SilhouetteAmerica Online (good luck in getting to the cut file store - the download tab is either corrupted or disabled - thankfully I have the link in my history so was able to get into the store.) *already have a membership subscription so don't feel I should have to purchase a new one under the membership purchasing tab!
  5. Snowflakes a jpeg,png and svg file from misskatecuttables.com
With the background paper, I took white and used the gradient tool in Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 and created the white areas on the page.  Also using paint.net I created the squares for the backshadow for placement of photos.

I took the cut file pieces of 2015, rockets and starbursts, putting them together and exported as png files which I downloaded into paint.net and retweaked the individual files so they're workable in Adobe Photoshop Elements 12.  Long method of doing the creations, but it works for me.  Videos are confusing when it comes to using some of the option/commands in Adobe Photoshop Elements 12.

Once again, when I get home I will re-do this in a standard page for scrapbook pages; or just insert photos and print out.

Thank you for stopping by, and happy crafting.

Family Fun - Picnic and Hike at McKelligon Canyon Park

Enjoyed a day at McKelligon Canyon Park on December 7, 2014 with a picnic and hike.  On this photo layout, I used Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 with copy and paste title from MyMemories Suite 6.

Russell Cave - using MyMemories Suite Scrapbooking software

Good morning, here in El Paso, Texas where I have been visiting for a couples months, and have 30 days to lift-off for Huntsville, Alabama  final destination - Scottsboro, Alabama.  I've used the time to create digital scrapbook layouts and this time I used the new version of MyMemories Suite Ver. 6 for this layout.  (Only drawback I found is that I could not export the template from MyMemories Suite to Photo Shop Elements 13! :-(.

I have not personally visited this Park, but we do drive by the sign indicating where to turn for Park.  I have a feeling, that for 2 old ladies, it would require too much walking!.

I will have to admit that placing photos into the photo templates far easier to do than in Photoshop Elements - lot less steps and clicks to add the photo.  I am hoping to use this software for other scenic photos I have in my stash because of the ease of use.

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me today, and now to get ready for the day as we're going off to McClellan Park for a winter picnic and walk the two dogs.  Happy crafting to all.

Cups and Saucer Plate painted with Sharpies - SBC Simply Homemade Linky Party

This is different project for me to create, but to keep my creative juices flowing while in El Paso, Texas, I was directed to this Pinterest site by my daughter-in-law and thought it would be a cool project to work on, especially with Christmas coming up here real soon.

(Click on the Pinterest link above and will direct you to the Pinterest website) or at Darling Doodles Designs

Making a trip to the local Dollar Tree store I purchased three white cups and a deep saucer plate and created with colored sharpies the following:

I'm not sure if I will add some type of sentiment to the sides of the saucer plate or just leave as is but for right now I'm leaving as is.  Once I colored in my design, we baked the item in oven at 450 degrees for 30 minutes.  (Actually two of the cups and plate was in 350 degree oven but any more projects will be in 450 degree because the color will fade with washings).

The photo of the third cup does not show the design very much - it's a heart centered on the front with "Scrap Mama' as a sentiment.  The middle cup is my idea of abstract art which will be a Christmas gift for a friend.  The first cup is for a cup for my sister who loves to pull weeds for relaxation!

Only real expensive item in this project is the Sharpie markers, the plate and cups a $1.00 each at the Dollar Tree (if you're lucky enough to have one in your town.  Where I live, there is not a Dollar Tree store, but will check Dollar General and Family Dollar for the cups/plates for future projects.)

Thanks for stopping by today, and have a happy crafting type of day.

Easel Card with Drawer Challenge #34

Time for another challenge at Scrapbook Blessings Club and this 2-week challenge is Easel Card with Box Drawer.  This actually was to be for the present challenge but my card was the WRONG format, as you can see at Scrapbook Blessings Club.

The video I used to create this project is here which I found very easy to create.  The image I used was a freebie from

that I had in my files to use for challenges like this.  The paper for the box from my personal stash, the inside paper in the box is printed from SilhouetteAmerica online store along with the wordart used on the inside of the easel card.  I believe I used my Bic Mark It markers for coloring; and the pumpkin was print and cut using my Silhouette Cameo print and cut option.

Check out the DT's projects at Scrapbook Blessings Club or follow us on https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheScrapBookblessingsClub/.  Thank you for visiting with me and happy crafting to all.

Creative Cutting Challenge - Thanksgiving Card(s)

I created two Thanksgiving cards, one from a year or two ago that I would call 'throwback'; and I created a newer card using same file, but a pop-out card base (this card base does go by different names, but on SilhouetteAmerica online store they call it 2a-pop-out card!)

The first card in the photo I created a basic card and adhered the Pilgrim couple from Thanksgiving Set One by The Creative Pointe with leaves cut out from unknown cut file.
Than, to update the project, I found the a-2 pop-out card base on SilhouetteAmerica online store and cut it out with the Silhouette Cameo, after printing out my Thanksgiving papers on water-color paper stock.  The turkeys was cut out several times so I  can create a chipboard sticker and placed just right next to Thanks.

Thank you for visiting with me today, and hope all have a day of happy crafting.

Christmas Cards -No Pattern Paper

November 1st challenge at Christmas  Cards All Year 'Round and here is my set of cards without  pattern paper in the design.

I was doodling in Adobe Photoshop Elements ver. 12 a few weeks back, and remembered I had some Christmas brushes so created the above cards on white card stock.  Since this is a project with no patterned paper I printed and cut directly to the card stock.  There is Liquid beads in several areas of the tree representing ornaments; along with clear beads in a few of the snowflakes.  (Little difficult to see).

I will have another Christmas card to share with you the 15th of November, so stop on back and have a look.  Thank you for stopping by to visit with me and may you all have a super crafty day.

Challenge #103 - Colors of Halloween

Using Pattie's image Spooky Scarecrow I created a card using Halloween colors of orange, black and purple even though the shabby coat looks more blue than purple ... LOL.  I used Copic markers for coloring the pumpkins, fence, coat and grass.  The black bird colored with Bic Mark It Up markers.  The Halloween scalloped circle tag was print and cut out from the SilhouetteAmerica online store and foam tape applied to underside.  Then matted and placed on Kraft card stock base.

Thank you for coming by to visit with me; and since today's Halloween, happy spook day to all.

Heidi with Apple

Good morning from Carolyn --- I am here with my project for this Saturday morning, using Heidi eating her caramel covered apple.

Heidi with Apple

I used the banner title 'Give Thanks' from Angela Creaion's scrap kit: Thanksgiving Fun Scrap Kit; and paper background from Give Thanks Scrap Kit.  Right now I'm not able to locate where I downloaded the Fall tree and fence with rake and pumpkins.

Using Abode Photoshop Elements 12 I created a scenic front to the card, placing Heidi eating her Apple in front on foam tape.  This was layered onto brown Kraft cardstock than onto brown.

Thank you for stopping to visit with me today, and hope you have a happy crafting weekend.

A Friday Favorite - Scrapbooking

Hi, Carolyn here with what I am calling Digital/Easy Pocket Scrapbooking Part 1; but this is a version of pocket scrap booking, done digitally...

This past June, as a final day of enjoying El Paso, Texas we went to the El Paso Zoo for a few hours and enjoyed the fun time, but not the heat.  I was sooo hot, it was unbearable but here is three layouts using clear plastic pockets from Pixel Scrapper Digital Scrapbooking and MyMemoriesSuite, or if you like the traditional way of scrapbooking, the plastic sleeves are available (I purchased mine thru HSN.com).

The giraffe in third layout is a clipart located in a Internet search and Fun Day at the Zoo and Zoo Fun titles from misskatecuttables.com  as svg cut files.  (you group together and than print and cut in your Silhouette Cameo to create a sticker and apply it on the layout.

Thank you for visiting with me today, and happy crafting.  You will find more inspirational ideas at Scrapbook Blessings Club.

I would like to enter into these challenges:

School House Mini-album

Our challenge theme is Anything Goes and I decided to use the free file from The Creative Pointe that can be found her

School House

For the Anything Goes challenge for October 20th, I used the School House free cutfile found here and created a School-House mini-album.  I cut the school house out on poster board for front and back cover and a couple inside pages to strengthen the album.

On the front cover I placed photos of granddaughter's first day of school for 2014-15 in ruler frames, and placed where the windows would be in the file.  Apple with First of Day school sentiment and a notebook, and yellow ruller as border for embellishments
.

Next two photos show what the pages will hopefully look like when I complete them...

I will be adding photos hopefully on each page as the 2nd one shows here.  Located a volleyball  and net clipart with a google search, print and cut with the Silhouette Cameo; and the journal card downloaded from Katie Pertiet where she is offering 50 Journal cards free.
Here is the back cover:

The mini-album will be bound with a ring on the corner of the school house.  Paper from a personal stash of paper pads I have.
Thank you for stopping by to visit with me; and head on over to Creative Cutting Challenges for more inspiration by the Design Team; and join us in the Anything Goes Challenge
