HomeMade Saturday - Raggedy Ann 25"

Hi all, I am here to share with you a sewing project I've been working on for a month to six weeks.  About two years or slightly more my niece asked me if I would make another Raggedy Ann doll for her oldest daughter, Julisa as she applied make-up to her 15" doll and didn't like the doll....

So I decided to make a 25" doll for replacement and here is pics of the doll....

Doll w/out her hair

Finished project.

and the tag:

Ragdolls by Scrappy Dew.com .  Printed and cut using my Silhouette Cameo and Studio DE software.  Actually, I loaded file into my Make the Cut software, put all the pieces together to form the Raggedy and saved as a png file so I could print and cut (or if I prefer, print than cut on the Cricut Explore.)

Using Inkscape and Studio DE I created a little tag as a card, so my sister and I could sign the inside.  I know there will be a happy 10 year receiving this doll by the end of this week.  And I will be cutting and sewing together another 25" Raggedy Ann doll for her 3 yr old sister.

Thank you for visiting with me and happy crafting.  Enjoy spring wherever you are and be safe.

Heidi with Apple

Good morning from Carolyn --- I am here with my project for this Saturday morning, using Heidi eating her caramel covered apple.

Heidi with Apple

I used the banner title 'Give Thanks' from Angela Creaion's scrap kit: Thanksgiving Fun Scrap Kit; and paper background from Give Thanks Scrap Kit.  Right now I'm not able to locate where I downloaded the Fall tree and fence with rake and pumpkins.

Using Abode Photoshop Elements 12 I created a scenic front to the card, placing Heidi eating her Apple in front on foam tape.  This was layered onto brown Kraft cardstock than onto brown.

Thank you for stopping to visit with me today, and hope you have a happy crafting weekend.

Squirrel with Sunflower Recipe Card

Hey there crafty friends, Carolyn here to share my Saturday morning post for Sunsational Stamps using the Squirrel with Sunflower image from the Going a Little Nutty set found here.

I am presently creating a Mini-ablum cookbook as a Fence for the main design...it's a work in progress and thought this Squirrel with a sunflower and pumpkin would be unique for several of the Recipe Cards.  I colored the images with Copic markers and created a back shadow so it could be highlighted on the Recipe Card.  (I am starting with the dessert section for this Recipe Book!)

The slice of pumpkin in lower left corner is from SilhouetteAmerica Online store.  All images was print 'n cut using my Sihouette Cameo along with the recipe card.

Thank you for stopping to visit with me and please visit us at Sunsational Stamps  and on our Facebook page at Sunsational Stamps FB page; where a challenge has been posted.  Please join us in this challenge which is going on through August 31st.  You can read all about the challenge on the Facebook page.  Happy crafting to all.

Christmas in July

Hi, Carolyn with another weekly posting, and seems to be the theme all over blogland that July is "Christmas in July" so with the last Saturday of July, I decided to use the theme to share with you.  Using the jpeg image that was included with the file, I created a Santa card.  Here is my card:

  Santa
cutting files include:  svg, pdf, jpeg, png, EPS and DXF

Supplies used:
In Silhouette Studio DE I open up the Santa file,  sized to what I wanted, and than printed it onto white card stock.  Once printed I used my Brother's Scan n Cut machine and cut out the Santa and the holly.  So easy to create your embellishments with this machine.

The frame cut out in red card stock (heavy cardstock) I created in Silhouette Studio DE and adhered to the white card base and inserted the subway art piece right into the square.

Swinging By to Say Hi

Hello from Carolyn with a 3D Stand Up Card (or referred to as a Tent Card) using the newest image by Scrapping with Lisa Designs ....  Swinging By To Say Hi...

Front view

 Back view

Side view

Supplies used:
  • Abode Photoshop Elements 12 Brushes
  • 3D Stand Up Card by Lori Whitlock
  • Silhouette Studio Design Edition software
  • Paint.net software
  • Stick on buttons
  • Small silver brads from Stampin! Up
  • score tape
I traced the image in Silhouette Studio Design Edition and than copy and pasted the image into Paint.net where I created a png image, deleting all the white areas without the image, as I wanted it to stand alone on the mat w/out the white areas showing.

In Abode Photoshop Elements I created a green grunge mat using the photoshop brushes (Grunge), saved as a jpeg and than loaded into my Silhouette Studio Design Edition.  Placed the mat on the 3D Stand Up cutfile; and than on a separate page I created the mat, placing the png image on the mat, after I created a oval for the swing to set on.  I colored the png image with copic, bic and Stampin! Up markers - the Bic marker I used for the swing set was going dry but was able to create the bleached look.

Created a Grunge - looking mat for the back side and placed the 2nd half of the sentiment (traced, ungrouped and divided the sentiment so I can place one part on front, and the 2nd half on back.)

The 3rd view if of the 3D Stand Up card from a side view showing how I attached the pieces together.  This card base can be cut out by hand (various utube videos out there with tutorials; and also there is tutorials on splitcoaststampers.com), but I wanted a cardbase that was easy to cut out and corrected size.  My first attempt at cutting this out was not a great cut...but I believe it was the cardstock used - too flimsy.

Head on over to Sunsational Stamps and have a happy crafting day.

Mother's Day Card

I know, I am a week late with this Mother's Day card (image by Sunsational Stamps), but shouldn't Mother's Day be everyday!

This is one of Lisa's newest designs which I love, love, love.  She is so cute.  I first print n cut her out using my Silhouette Cameo and Studio DE software.  The background is considered a stencil piece from SilhouetteAmerica online store which played around with ...first cutting out as a stencil and placed on cardstock and used different types of paint and distressed ink reinkers (doesn't work too well) and than attached my Silhouette blue pen to the holder and created this background.  I cut out three lacy borders and layered on top.  The sentiment I print and cut using a label from Grumpy Granny's store.

Attached the pieces and layered it on black cardstock and than to the card base.  Colored with my copic markers which I love; and purchased three new ones just recently and used them on the shoes..

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me today, and happy crafting to all..xoxo

Thank You So Much Note Card

Good Saturday morning, DT Carolyn here with a card project

Using the image from Flower Garden Paper Piecing set I created a border of flowers on lower edge of card.  Rounded the corners, and stamped 'Thank you So Much' sentiment and punched out using a small scalloped punch.

I watercolerd the image with Crayola watercolors and the grass I used a file in my Silhouette Studio library.  The butterflies print n cut from a file by Paper Garden Projects named 'Nurture'.  A ribbon from SU was placed on the top, and using my bow maker, I created the bow and glue dot it to the ribbon.

Thank you for stopping by and check out the store at  Sunsational Stamps store  and Scrapping With Lisa Desings.  Happy crafting to you all.

Saturday, Anything Goes

Hi, Carolyn here with another crafty Saturday, and I have been working on one-page layouts for the great grandkids albums; and since my granddaughter decorated her daughter's room with Ladybugs, I created a layout with ladybugs and flowers.

TIP:  when using spray adhesive be careful that residue does not get on front of piece being glued; if so use one of the embellishments to 'hide' the look of the glue.

Supplies used:
  • Silhouette Design Edition software used for cutting pieces
  • Big brads given to me from my sister
  • ribbon from my stash
  • 12x12 cardstock from Joann Fabrics
  • The layout file from
I enjoyed creating this layout and actually have another ladybug layout in the works.  Thank you for stopping to visit with me today,  Happy crafting, and hugs to all xoxo

Spring Flowers

Supplies used:
Placed one of pieces of the Flower Pot Card on my virtual mat in Silhouette Design Edition, and placed the flowers and Mouse under the flower in the pot.  Printed and than using my Crayola water color markers colored the image.  Stamped Hello on one corner of card, and placed two beads in the mouse's eyes; and one gemstone in the corner.  The butterflies come as a set of three to stamp one on top of each other.  Once I got the colors to my liking, I punched out with the corresponding punch; and have nice note card to use.

Flower Garden Paper Piecing Pattern - jpg

Supplies used:
  • Roses from Flower Garden Paper Piecing Pattern Set
  • Butterfly not sure where that came from!
  • Tree trunk and grass is a cut file from the SilhouetteAmerica Online Store
  • Hello stamp
  • Cardstock 4.25x8.50
I placed pieces where I hope they would be appealing on my Silhouette Design Edition virtual mat, and than print and cut the card.  The Roses were images to color in with my Crayola water coloring markers.  The Butterfly that's printed in the left hand corner from a file I don't remember where I gotten it.  Stamped Hello and placed three green gemstones to create a nice note card for a set of note cards to be boxed .

  • Markers used: Stampin! Up and Copic for the letters

Need a Hug?

Do you need a hug?  I believe we all do at some time and right now, I sure could use a hug or two -- from my granddaughters!!

Supplies used:
  • Digital stamp "Need a Hug?" by Sunsational Stamps
  • Swiss dot embossing folder used to emboss the larger mat
  • paper designs from my Silhouette Studio "My Library"
  • Brads, buttons and baker twine
Measurements for layered pieces

    Main mat: 13cm x 13cm (5x5)in
                       8cm x 5 cm (3x2)in
                       12cm x 4 cm (4 3/4 x 1 1/2) (used 11cm x 6 cm)in
                       3cm x 2cm (1 1/4 x 3/4)in
9cm in diameter  (3 1/2 in in diameter)

TIP:  when converting from Metric (centimeters) to Standard just change your measurements in your Studio software under preferences from Auto to CM and than when checking the size of your pieces or changing the sizes, you can just enter the cm numbers and will come up to that size. (unless you know how to do the math!!)

I placed the main mat thru the Sizzix Big Shot and embossed it 2 times since the mat was a bit wider than the embossing folder.  And the little 'gap' between the dots covered by the placement of the mats.

Basically, this card makes a 5x5 (size of base card is approx 5.25 x 10.25).

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me today, and take a moment and visit Sunsational Stamps for additional inspiration.

Lisa

Lisa

Good morning, Carolyn here to share with you what I created using the digi stamp "Lisa" from Sunsational Stamps.

The main layer of the front mat I cut out a fancy label mat, and using the same cut piece, I created a lattice and than applied to the main mat and framed it with brown card stock.

I traced the image, Lisa in my Silhouette Studio and colored with Stampin! Up markers, but the hat and brim is paper pieced from another image of Lisa that I hand-cut.  Placed Lisa on the edge of the lattice window using foam tape.  Flowers from from a swap that I participated in on Facebook at one time.

Please visit us at Sunsational Stamps to see what we've been up to lately.

Thank you for stopping by, and hugs to all...xoxo
