Window Frames Gate Fold Card

Good morning, and happy to have you visiting with me today.  I am sharing a card I created using a version of a gate fold card I viewed on youtube.com by Dawn5377 (I am subscribed to her videos and receive notifications via e-mail).  Here is a link to her video; and she has other gate fold cards listed as well.

Sine I do not have this particular die cut I used another die cut which did make my inside card smaller than her version, but it works.

Here is the photo ....

Recipe for card:
  1. Card stock from my personal stash, the tag and mat Crumb Cake from Stampin Up
  2. Framelits - Labels Collection #125598 in Stampin Up catalog (page 231 of latest catalog)
  3. Faith in Nature stamp set from Stampin! Up (received as a hostess gift)
  4. Fiskar's Compact Stamp Press to help with lining up the stamping of images/sentiment (will be replacing this tool with the new MISTI that has just come on the market)
The white card mat will tuck in a pocket under the front gate fold which is super great for closing the card - no belly band, etc to close the card for mailing purposes (it's shown more in the video)

Tuesday - Cards @Scrapbook Blessings Club

Hi there friends in the crafting world, Carolyn here to share a couple Christmas cards I recently made...

Christmas Village Church from here.
The image was stamped on white card stock, and than die cut with a oval die.  Each scallop on the mat I applied Liquid Pearls and attached a ribbon on bottom.  Place it over a snow-flaked embossed mat and all attached to white card stock base. Sentiment from Stampin! Up Teeny Tiny Words.  Glitter glue applied to roof of the church; and I used Wink of Stella glitter pens to color in the stained glass window, plus the windows.  Door is also colored in with Wink of Stella glitter pen.

Photo download from a search on Internet that I printed out, and applied glitter/stickles to areas in photo that had glittered.  And created a easel card using my Silhouette Cameo.  I believe the photo was printed out and than cut out with my Brother's Scan 'n Cut machine.

Cupcake Birthday Card - Sliceform technique

Hey, Carolyn here with Tuesday - Cards at Scrapbook Blessings Club and I am sharing a card technique that I found on Extreme Cards and Papercrafting and by clicking on the link will direct you to the instructions for this cupcake card.

Front view of Cupcake Card (hopefully you can see the cupcake)

Card laid flat for mailing purposes (and to give you some indication of what it looks like)

MY TIP:  don't become frustrated when putting the card together.  Take your time, and take a break if it becomes to much for you.  In putting it together, have to twist the pieces to get them to insert into the slots.

Supplies used:
To be honest, I temporarily paper-clipped the cupcake holder together as it may not be the final piece.  I downloaded a holder from the SilhouetteAmerica Online store that has Happy Birthday cut out, so this is just to show what you can do.

I printed the candles and than used my PrismaColor markers to color the flame and candle (great-grandson will be 4 in October).

Simple Mother's Day Cards

Hi, Carolyn here with my Mother's Days cards that I created and sent to family members this year.

My TIP:  keep the card simple.

Front of Cards*

Inside of one card**

Inside of the second card***

* Front of the card:
  • This is a file I found on SilhouetteAmerica Online store that is a print n cut file; but I am going to try it with my Silhouette Pens next time.
  • Ungrouped the file (had to do several times because when I cut it out, it cut where I did not  expect it to...the new layering factor in the upgrade of Silhouette Studio DE I think).
** Inside of 2 of cards (I created 4 cards) I stamped a flower image in left corner and colored with       my  Wink of Stella by Zip Memory Systems CL Pink and CL. Dk Green

*** I used a finger dauber and purple ink and daubed spots on the white card, creating a dotted design.  Also sponged the edges of  inside card with same ink color.

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me today,   Make sure to check out our current challenge over at Scrapbook Blessings Club!  Happy crafting to you all.

Tuesday Cards - Flip/Swing/Gate Fold Card

Good morning Friends. Carolyn here for Scrapbook Blessing's Club Tuesday - Cards presenting to you a Flip/Swing/Gate Fold Card. Tip: when you don't have design paper on hand for your project, print your own or use Freezer paper and gift wrapping paper.

After watching a video from The Stamping School where Linda, owner and instructor created this card using a new thin framelits die from Stampin Up on cutting out the Flip/Swing card base.  Actually, save yourself some money, and buy the cardbase cut file from SilhouetteAmericaOnline.com which makes about the same type of card base.

After tweaking the file to the size I would like for my card, here it is:

Using my Silhouette Cameo, I cut out the base of 5.5x9.75.  I cut the pattern according to the file, but the  third fold I done by hand as I am not good with math or measurements!! (smile).  I scored the third fold in at 2.5 inches, or just to come under the flip-out fold.

The design paper you see here I printed from a jpeg picture I have in my files of a snowflake background.  This also I cut out with my machine

I checked my embossing folders and found the only snow theme in the stash; and using the Sizzix Big Shot I embossed the third fold, with the embossing folder turned around, so the non-negative side will be displayed.

On the inside of the card I placed the design paper in the center and on the end fold and added  chipboard mittens at the bottom

The images used from my Silhouette Studio DE Library, and the sentiment  placed on a scalloped circle  with three gemstones along the top edge.

My recipe:

5.5x9.75" cardstock by Close to My Heart
Design Paper:  Hammerhill Digital paper and jpeg file from my files.
Mittens from a collection received as a gift (Wal-mart)
Gemstones - from my stash.
Sizzix Big Shot embossing machine
embossing folder from Cuddlebug
