Great Granddaughter Isabella' Album

I am working on my Great-granddaughter, Isabella Grace's scrapbook using software, MyMemories Suite ver.4 and yes, at times it's difficult to operate. Still a learning experience for me, and 99% of the time I prefer the old fashion way of creating a scrapbook ... by hand.  Lol.

I am planning to create a 8x8 Scrapbook of Isabella from birth to her 1st year...keeping track of her by pictures I download from Facebook from her mom, Connie (my granddaughter).  I can't believe she will be 1 month old this coming Thursday, January 31, 2013.

Just wanted to share with you all what I am doing with My Memories Suite ver 4.0.  I'm not into sales pitches, but will display pictures of what I've created.  If you are interested in the software, just click on the blinkie/badge on sidebar and it will take you to the introductory page for the software and company.

Thank you for stopping by, and hugs to all.

Cooking Appliances

This weeks project for http://www.svgcuttingfiles.blogspot.com is using Cooking Utensils with Boy and Girl Chef's....

I am creating a Recipe book and used the utensil pieces on the front of the cover and inside of front cover....

Front Cover

On the front I used the measuring spoons, rolling pin and the mixing bowl from the Cooking Appliances set.  The title is my creation using SCAL3, and the canisters from Silhouette Studio Library download from Silhouette America website store.

Inside of Front Cover

Once again the My Kitchen title is my creation.  The included pieces: Artichoke, potholders, spatula and turner, bowl and mixing bowl and the pot from the Cooking Appliance cutfile from

I did add the washi tape on edge as it was unfinished and I am planning to using binding wires with my Cinch binding tool to create this recipe book.  All paper was glued in place using spray adhesive!!

Thank you for stopping by, and hugs to all.

The Climber

This week's challenge is:

For this Challenge all you have to do is create a Card/Project, featuring a Boy's Theme, this can be Birthday or a Get Well Card.

So I used the Digi Stamp Tree Climber

and layered the image on three layers of mats after using my Stampin Up Ink markers to do the coloring.

And coming from Indiana where there are Amish communities I used the Amish as my theme...the boy is dressed like a Amish boy would be.

Thank you for stopping by, and hugs to all.

Creative Cutting Challenge - January 18th Valentine's Cards

First card in the challenge

My Valentine Cards for this challenge are simple to make... I used  a Heart svg from the Heart Freebies Set from SVGShop.com for this first card.  First start with a card base of pink 5.50x11 ... Placed black and white polka dot washi tape across the top section of front of card base.  Than placed a piece of white card stock just below the tape.  On the white card mat, I placed a black and white checkered ribbon and than foam taped the heart to approximately the center.  Stamped the sentiment in black ink..a quick card to send to family or friend

Second Valentine's Card in the Challenge

used some pre-cut card stock to create a Valentine Card ... another quick and simple card to mail out.  I threaded the black and white polka dot ribbon thru the heart which is part of Creative Pointe Valentine Hearts Set available at http://www.curandcreate.com.  Two hearts joined together to accent the one corner.  I stamped the sentiment in black, and placed two small hearts below each end.

Come and join us in this challenge...we love to see your Valentine creations.

Thank you for stopping by, and hugs to all.

Valentine's Challenge

Valentine Card Challenge

This is a card I created for the Valentine's Challenge at

Placed a strip of black and white polka dot washi tape across the top edge of a card base in pink.  Using my Silhouette Cameo and Silhouette Studio Designing Edition, I print and cut the digi stamp of hearts from the PCDS-057 Row of Hearts

I used my Copic Markers I colored in the Hearts, and using foam tape I placed them on the black and white checkered ribbon.  Also place a brad in the two top corners  and stamped a sentiment from a rubber stamp in my stash that I purchased Archievers a few years ago.

Thank you for stopping by, and hugs to all.

BAP #2 - Chapstick Holder

Chapstick Holder - Front view

Chapstick Holder - Side view

I first cut the main piece out of white poster board for stability, and repeated the 2nd cut with design paper from Wal-mart...Valentine paper.  I folded and inserted two brads into the back where the little stand will be that the chapstick is placed into.

I created a image of lips from a digi stamp, cut it out in pink and placed on the front of holder.  Also use velcro to attach the top to the folded piece.  Placed a red ribbon for contrast and there you go...a neat little chapstick holder ....

Thank you.for stopping by, and hugs to all.

Love Grows

PP-Love Grows

Another Valentine card that I created for my posting for today, Wednesday, January 16, 2013.  I used this cutfile from http://svgcuttingfiles.com/ ... it is part of set.  I cut the red heart as a shape card, but decided to layer the single heart to a white card base.  Than cut out two more hearts of different sizes and layered to the red hear.

In creating the red heart, I joined the shadow of the girl to the heart, and place the girl on it after I put her together.  Stamped 'happy valentine's day' with a rubber stamp from stampinup.com in red, and placed gem stones on the corners.

The card will be going to one of my granddaughters in Korea for Valentine's Day.

Thank you for stopping by, and hugs to all.

PP-Love Ewe

First BAP for 2013

The first BAP from http://www.creativekuts.com for 2013 is a Valentine theme Pillow Shape Box.  This is the first time I made a Pillow Shaped Box and turned out very well.

First of all, I cut two pillow shape boxes out using light weight poster board on Silhouette Cameo and cut like a dream.  I done this so the box will retain it's shape in mailing to Korea for Valentine gifts to my granddaughters.  Next I cut the same box shape using designer paper ... here I used a Valentine themed paper.

Cut the frog and sentiment from card stock, and ran it through my sticker maker machine...good way of getting the pieces to remain permanently.  I purchased a package of Valentine brads at Wal-mart in their .97 cent bin recently and placed the brad in right hand corner.

I used permanent adhesive tape and Tacky Glue to adhere the paper to the poster board since I am having problems of whatever I am working with staying glued (and I end up reworking the whole project again..ugh).  I trimmed a square from the protective covering for the Cricut mat and placed behind the opening so the candy will not fall out ... LOL

Since the original piece is poster board and I don't believe the adhesive will be strong enough to stay, I used two bronze color brads where it comes together to create the box.  Once finished I folded the sides and a ribbon will be added when I get ready to mail these..

This item will be available at http://www.creativekuts.com soon; or if you have a Facebook account, type in Creative Kuts in the search line, and become a member of the group.  Each Monday Cheryl comes out with a new BAP for the week.  You have until Tuesday to sign up, make your request to bap at creativekuts dot com and than have a week to create the project.  Post by 5 p.m. PST on Sunday's which will allow you to request the next BAP on Mondays.  The BAP changes each week...can be a card, a scrapbook page or some type of 3D project ... i.e.:  boxes, etc.

Thank you for stopping by and hope all yours days are great.

Valentine Hanging Heart Box

This past Monday, January 7, 2013 I posted on the http://www.creativecuttingchallenge.blogspot.com this Hanging Heart Box as one of my submissions as a member of the Design Team.

It is a simple box to create, and I have the cut file offered in my store for sale.  The zip file includes svg, mtc, jpeg, png, pdf, studio, dxf  file formats and is for personal use only.

You can obtain this file at http://www.g-macreativestore.com and for those that shop at the Cut and Create Store I will have it offered at http://www.cutandcreate.com under Carolyn Smith.

It is a little box to use for Valentine treats for your children, grandchildren or for a student's classmates.

Thank you for stopping by and hugs to all.

Using MyMemories Suite to scrapbook

I don't usually do my scrapbooking using software but I thought ... what the heck... I'll give it a try.  I created this page today using MyMemories Suite  which I found to be easy to work in.

I uploaded a photo of my two granddaughters living in Korea at Christmas time opening their gifts.  After uploading into the software, I use the Word Art Designer option to create their names and placed above the girls ... it was definitely easy to do...and making the names curve upward was easy as well.

This is a one page layout, if you want to call it that.  I have more that I will be working between working on my Design team duties...lol.

Please visit  http://www.mymemories.com/ and see what they have to offer you in their scrapbook software.

I will be posting pages of the newest member of my family in a couple weeks of

Isabella Grace

great-granddaughter.  I am working on a layout of her and now waiting on info from her her mom on weight and length so I will have this correct.  And will be looking to purchase a 8x10 scrapbook to put this into. At this time I am wanting to keep up with her scrapbook; plus get started on her brother's scrapbook as well.

Thank you for stopping by, and hugs to all.

Challenge #23 Anything Goes

After the holidays and the theme for this challenge is Anything Goes so I chose to create a Explosion Box from a svg cut file from Platypus Creek Digitals.com which was easy to cut.  I cut the main body out of white poster board I purchased at a dollar store...it's 11x14 in size, so really do not need to trim it to fit the cutting mat...I let it hang over the bottom edge when cutting..

My picture is not the best and apologize for this but it was the time of day and taking a picture in the kitchen, at least today, did not work out too well.

Box put together and have a small ribbon attached to it to carry the box.  Rather than glue the flaps on the lid together, I punched a small hole and inserted brads.  Did glue the designer paper to the poster board....

This is the inside of the Explosion box...I used washi tape to accent the flaps and other two sides I added mats.  The center is a flower from a card kit.  The Butterfly is also from the same card kit and I used gems down the center of the Butterfly and popped it up with foam tape.

Thank you for stopping by, and hugs to all.

Valentine's Day - Not a Card

Glass Etching

First one is a glass etching using your hearts that I joined together  ... I was into creating candles this  year, and etched a double heart onto opposite corners.

Hanging Heart Box

Next one is a Heart Shaped Hanging Heart for treats...I used the heart file from Creative Pointe on the front of this Heart Box and placed a pink button in the center of the heart.  The pattern for the heart box is a design by © Juliet Mascarenhas..

Another Heart Shape Box

The next Heart shaped box is...a little different.  I thought it was going to be a square box with a heart closure but turned out to be something similar to the Heart Shaped Hanging Heart....I cut out the Valentine shape, resizing each heart to layer. Once again I used the same file from Creative Pointe

This shows both boxes side-by-side.

Lollipop Cover

Front view.

Back view.

Now last but not least, this is a Lollipop cover...a small covering in the shape of a heart with a heart shape on the front and back that can be included with Valentine Cards for school Valentine parties or for your little ones. This could also be used as topper for a Valentine's Cupcake for school treats. I added a bit of adhesive to the paper around the lollipop and attached to the cover.

Thank you for stopping by visit with me today, and hugs to all.

PP-LB Heart

A Little Birdie SVG Cutting File set

 available at svgcuttingfiles.com

I used a pre-cut card base and with striped design paper I create this Little Birdie with a string holding a heart.  I took the hearts and added to each corner of the card.  On two of the hearts I placed a small gem stone, as well as three in one corner of the mat.

The stamped image is a item I received as a gift from a consultant of Close to My Heart.

Thank you for stopping by and hugs and Happy New Year to all.
