A Quilted Birthday Card

I have been purchasing card kits from a Facebook group page for the past 6 months and with the financial strain I'm experiencing right now, and I do create cards for enjoyment, I got to thinking, I can create these same type of cards using Pinterest to find patterns for quilts.

I found this pattern on Pinterest, don't know who it belongs to, and apologized for that, but here is the card I came up with.----

Using my Make the Cut software, I traced the template and saved it.  After saving it, I created the svg file from that, and broke the template down so I can get the quilted pieces.

I cut two templates (4.25 x 4.25 I believe) gluing the white template onto a black cardstock and place the individual pieces on the matching place.  Than glued the pink template over the top of the pieces/white template.  (To me it looks more neater than placing the pieces onto the top of the framed quilted template!!).

The Happy Birthday title I found (for free with a subscription) on Cricut Design Space.  I decided, rather than cut out in white and color in, I would cut the title out like it was shown in the picture.

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me today, and God's blessings to you all.

Gingerbread Pop Up Christmas Card

Here is a pop up card I created using Creative Kuts Gingerbread Pop up Christmas Card that we purchased a couple months ago from Cheryl Walton aka Scrappinmini.

Paper used from my personal stash of card stock and design paper accumulated over the years.

The inside of the pop up card was created with the software:  Popup Card Studio where I used the shadow of the Gingerbread House to place on the center of the card and inserted the tabs where needed.; save the file in svg format, and that loaded into my Make the Cut software and resized all the pieces to fit the pop up piece  A lot of work but I enjoyed it.

The small Gingerbread men were downloaded from the Make the Cut gallery and than I used the Gingerbread Men and candy and created a border to place on the top of the layered mat.  Created more candy for decorative embellishments

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me today in rainy Alabama.  God bless and have a blessed day.

Birthday pop-up card I've been working on...

This is what I have been working on for a little while now, and finally completed my version of it today and very happy with the results.  I haven't test cut it yet, just want to share with you all my accomplishment.  I was close to uninstalling the software by Make the Cut - Pop Up Card Studio as I am having problems with a gazebo but will go back to working on it.

Now, I admit, the picture is not the greatest  because of the angle, but the top word is 'Birthday' ... lol.  But I am learning this software, and this is from a tutorial at Susan Bluerobot.com and I followed the video tutorial as best as I can.  Hopefully, I can graduate from beginner to more of  a immediate and create my own cards.  I've done a couple designs, but they're for a personal envelope mini-envelope that I hope to cut and place in the mini-albums for the granddaughter's.  More will come later on the mini-albums.

Thank you for stopping by, and blessings to all.  xoxo

Owl-in-Tree Pop Up project

I found this Owl in a Tree cut file in the online Make the Cut library and decided to work it up as a pop up card, using Make the Cut's new software, Pop Up Card Studio.  I first created a shadow of the owl in the tree, and than copy and pasted to Pop Up Card Studio and created this Owl in a Tree Pop Up Card.  This is a proto-type, I haven't cut it out yet.  I just wanted to share with you all what I've been working on lately.

I will cut it out later and decorate and post the finished results at that time.  Thank you for stopping by, and hugs to all... xoxo

Rose Stencil Pop Up Card

First of all, I am not affiliated with Pop Up Card Studio or Make the Cut software.  I use Make the Cut software to design my cut files in; and create pop up cut files in the new software, Pop Up Card Studio.  And cut out the projects in SCAL3 as it's easier to move around in - I'm more familiar with the way the project is laid out on the mat and not confusing when it comes to cutting.

Anyhow I would like to share with you the project I just completed but have not test cut yet.

I was playing with my software, Pop Up Card Studio that I just recently purchased from the creators of Make the Cut software; and feel a little better about the purchase.  At first, I felt I wasted the money because of the way my first design came out, but retweaking and using different options in the program, I am beginning to like it.  I'm not where the pro that some designers are, especially Penny Duncan...she is fabulous with her designs using this new software; and hope to see a video or more from her.

First I retweaked the Stencil Rose according to a video by Rob of Scrappy Dew on how to remove the 2nd lines in the design.  Once done, I created a shadow of the StencilRose and copied and pasted into my Pop Up Card Studio and created the pop up card using the shadow of the Stencil Rose.

After completing the pop up card, I copied and pasted to Make the Cut and re-size the StencilRose pattern to fit; and saved as a svg file so I can cut out in my SCAL3 software.  I will test cut and than decide if I will put into the store.

Thank you for allowing me to share with you my creations, and hugs to all xoxo
