Three pages completed for Granddaughter's books

This isn't really finished as I do not have the adhesive to apply for the sentiment (waiting on payday so I can order refills!!).  Using a card layout sketch from Mojo Monday - The Blog I enlarged the pieces using Cricut Design Space for cutting.

svg cut file from Creative Kuts Choo Train - a monthly series that I purchase each month and receive files for the month along with bonus files.  Only difference in my my layouts compared to the creator of the files is the eyes.  I stamped the eyes using my facial stamp set(s) (I have several sets).

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me today, and have a blessed weekend.

Christmas Eve 2015

Playing around last evening with a Christmas Eve layout using a sketch template  MOJO Monday #432 from Mojo Monday Sketch

Using the sketch, I changed the size to a 12x12 page (and will use later as a 8x8 recipe card for my recipe mini-album).  This is digital scrapbook page, but later I will also create 2 pages (for each granddaughter's scrapbook) for a traditional style.

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me today, and have a blessed week.

Potatoe and Bacon Casserole Recipe Card

Good morning; I am here to share with you a recipe card/page I created for my Granny's Cookin' Recipe Mini-album.

I've been working on this recipe card from Creative Kuts titled Potatoe and Bacon Casserole; and I had posted pics of the mini-album I created from scratch using a 3 D ring binding mechanism instead of the Hidden Binding Plus System.  Hopefully I will get more pages into the mini-album this way.

Here is the completed recipe card - 8x8 card

I will have to admit here that this is the 3rd try on this card.  I laminated the card upon completion of the layout and wanted it to be winkle free as much.  The 2nd try had a winkle on the bottom edge after running thru the lamination machine; and I would like my projects to be as perfect as I can make them.

This is a svg cutfile, but I created png files from the individual files (ie: the potatoe and bacon grouped together and saved as a png file).  I loaded into my Cricut Design Space as a cutfile, than created a digital image and flattened it so I can cut out as a digital piece.

The background I layered in Adobe Photoshop Elements and printed it out as 8x8 card on watercolor paper (heavy duty) which I like and will be using for the rest of the recipe cards.  Than I adhered the photo of the casserole, title and Potatoe and Bacon piece with spray adhesive (have to use what I have right now :-) ) and than laminated the card, adhered the finished piece to black poster board cut to size and two holes placed on left edge.

Now to the front of this recipe book.  Using a cutfile from Scrappy Dew Scrap Factory, I created a Granny with a recipe tags, and two utensils (from Creative Kuts files) and here is the final results.

My next album from scratch will be 10x10 in size so the 8x8 photo protectors will work.  They will not work in this album - over hangs on the right edge.

Thank you for visiting with me; and may you have a blessed week.

Granny's Cookin Recipe Book

Here is the beginnings of Granny's Cookin' Recipe Book that I will fill with recipe files from Creative Kuts.  The book, itself, has been totally made from scratch and I included the binding mechanism that I purchased from Paper Phenomenon.

The pages will be 8x8 in size and will include either print and cut files or svg files.  As of now, I am probably going to use the We R Memories Memory Keepers Fuse tool to create the plastic inserts for the cards.

Here is what I have done so far; and I was/is quite happy with the results.  Now, I was in tears on Monday morning when I noticed tears in the end binding along where it folds, but have corrected the problem.  (I believe I will be purchasing pre-made mini-albums and decorating them from now on!!)

On the binding mechanism I had to use Glossy Accents to 'glue' it to the back cover, but if I make this again, I will wait until after I have inside of back cover decorated so I can bring the paper up under the mechanism.  All because it's held by two paper clasps that are not holding very tight.

I will be creating a title Granny's Cookin' with a Grandma cutfile that will be placed on the front cover.  But with DT duties I have not got it cut out; plus I am working on a mini-album for my granddaughter who is expecting in May 2016.

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me, and have a blessed day.

You Make My Heart Sing Easel Card

I created two easel cards, using a blue bird singing his heart out.  The first card here has a wobble placed under his head to make the head move.

The next card, using the same svg cut file has a stationary head.

This svg cut file has been created by Creative Kuts and will be in her store shortly.

I am working on the same file creating a box card with the pieces and should have this posted next week at the latest.

Thank you for taking time to visit with me, and blessings to all.

Get Well Soon Card

As a returnee to the Creative Kuts DT for Cards I am showcasing this Get Well Soon Card by Creative Kuts - Cheryl Walton, also known as Cheryl Scrappinmini on Facebook.

Easy card to make, except for some pieces to glue ie. trim around collar of bathrobe!! LOL

Cardstock used from Stampin! Up and Colorbox.  The design paper I've had awhile, but believe it's from Close to My Heart selection.  I used my ink daubers and created the inked circles in the medicine bottle, and on the inside design paper mat.  The tag with the Get Well Soon sentiment was print and cut using my Silhouette Studio Design Edition software.

Thank you for taking time to visit with me, and I will have another easel card to post later with a Valentine's Day theme.  Have a blessed day.

Request for Circus Tent card

Good morning.  I had a request for the whereabouts of the Circus Tent card just recently as a comment on my blog posting (Happy New Year's wish).

I would love to help you but I need a little more information.  Do you know the date of the posting for the Circus Tent card.  I remember working on a Circus Tent mini-album, but I do not remember where I got the file.

I usually try to link the website to the file when I purchase the file, but if this was an earlier posting, I may have not started it.  I also am a member of the ScrappyDew Vault and they have a set of files for Circus and other circus embellishments.

Please, if you read this point me to the posting you found this in; and than email me at cmsmith46580@gmail.com.

Thank you.

Connie and Domenica digital layout

The template is scrapbook paper from PixelScrapper.  I searched for baby paper and found the oh Baby Baby geometric paper. I cut the individual geometric sizes, copy and pasted to my paint.net software where I created a psd file to use in Adobe Photoshop Elements.  Once I created the png file I open up the individual geometric designs in Adobe Photoshop Elements, and also open up the photos I wanted.

I did use the full scrapbook paper photo as a background layer for the pieces.  I placed the photos into the desired geometric piece, created a clipping mask and before merging them, I changed the opacity of the photo.

Before flattening the project, I went into effects menu and created strokes around the geometric designs to give it some dimensions - to pop it out.

Once I saved it on my laptop, I did go into picmonkey.com and done some editing.  They're easy to work with, you don't have to try to figure out how to darken the corners, etc because they do it all for you with a few clicks.

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me today.  Hopefully I will be making a DT announcement here shorty.  Have a blessed day.
