Using a Kraft Card

Using an image from my stash from  The Stamping Chef to create this week's card for the challenge over at The Stamping Chef  blog.

We was ask to use Kraft card stock in our creation, as the card base, or a punch die cut which I chose to do.  First I printed the image, 'Rock My World'  on Kraft card stock, and than colored the image with various medians including finger nail polish (the base of the guitar is a silvery color of finger nail polish) .

I used a new die cut from Spellbinders Nestabilities called Floral Ovals to cut the image out.  On my card base, I cut off a quarter of the front of the card, and placed the oval shape cut out onto it.  I used a design paper with the peace symbol on the edge and ribbon was placed for embellishment.  I printed the sentiment and than used a paper punch from my stash of punches to layer on top of the ribbon.  Two brads where included in the tag.

Stop on over to The Stamping Chef  and check out this challenge and join in the fun.  Also, check out TSC Recipes on Facebook and join in the weekly challenges she has going on.

Thank you for stopping by, and hugs to all of you. xoxo

Just to Say......

Front

Good morning, and I am coming to "Just to Say.....

Inside
"Hello".
I am using  an image from this set:

but the image I had was included with this free file (at one time) which now can be obtained at  Scrapper's Delights Papercrafting Store . Name is of the girl image is Summer Breeze 3.

I placed the sentiment with Summer Breeze on top of a doillie file I purchased, it is a doillie with a background that I converted to a card.  Layered the doillie and image onto this after I colored in the image with my Spectrum Noir ink markers.  Stamped 'Hello' in the inside of the card, and presto, a nice little card to send to a friend or family member.

Thank you for stopping by, and hugs to all.

Challenge to use a Apple in a card or layout

August is a time when most of the States are headed back to school, so for this challenge we were asked to make a card, layout or project using something school related but include an Apple.

***

So I reached into my clip art files (fromResale Clip Art Club) for a school desk.  I created a desk card - the front is the shape of a school desk welded to a square.  And by converting to a svg file I was able to cut out the chair and desk pieces and placed on the card base of the desk and chair.

The book is a Silhouette cut file, and the book is from - don't know where.  The title 'School Rules' another file from Silhouette.

Here is the inside of the card

***

***
I layered a piece of black card stock on the inside of square card base representing a chalk board.  In my hand I wrote the adding problem, spelling and than used the A+ from a cut file I have in my stash.

Please join us over at Kraftie Kre8ations in the School Theme Challenge this weekend, August 24th and 25th.  Thank you for stopping by to visit with me this weekend, and hugs to all xoxo

Polar Bear Snow Globe for Anything Goes at Pattie's Creations Challenge

Good morning peeps, another Challenge over at Pattie's Creations Challenge and I chose Polar Bear Snow Globe for my Anything Goes theme.  I created the snow globe as a easel card and here is 2nd page.

I print and cut the Polar Bear Snow Globe image and layered onto globe shape  black card stock.  I used a silver glittery card stock that I had left over from another project and created the base of the snow globe. Coloring was done with Stampin! Up ink markers and the Polar Bear was colored in with Stampin! Up White ink pad.  Where the polar bear is sitting I used a Copic marker to hopefully give it the illusion of ice water he's sitting on.

With the same silver glittery card stock I cut out three snowflakes and white gem stones used for the snow flakes in the globe.

Here is the same images in a vertical collage

Head on over to Pattie's Creations Challenge and check out the creations of the Design Team.  Thank you for playing along with us, and for visiting with me today.  Hugs to all xoxo

Apple Mini-Album

This Apple Mini-Album was to be for a challenge scheduled for this weekend, but I did not finish in time to submit to the Challenge co-ordinator, so will be posted here, today.  I had to cut out the pages at least 3 x's before I was satisfied with the results.  And I used my SCAL3 and Silhouette Studio DE software for designing and cutting purposes.  And the album is still a work in progress, as I have more decorating to do on the pages.

So here are the main pages of the album.

***

Front Cover

This album is in the shape of an Apple.  I used several files here and welded together a black shadow for the ABC-123 title to be layered.  The backpack image is from http://www.resalecliparts.com .  The other files in this creation from various vendors that I download freebies or buy from occasionally.

***

Page 4

The Apple is cut out in black card stock representing a black chalkboard/blackboard and I created and welded five apples along the bottom edge.  And cut out leaves and stem, oh little pieces are such fun. LOL.  The chalkboard is a frame that I attached the bottom edge to to hold the eraser and chalk.  And once I decide if I am going to add a photo, it will be inserted in the opening; and the chalkboard laid onto the chalkboard card stock with foam tape so a photo can be added.

***

Page 6

Created a page with the Bookworm coming out the end of the Apple.  This can be used for photos, or embellishments of a school theme, not sure yet.

***

Page 9

Another page to decorate with school theme embellishments (such as a school desk, titles, school books, etc).  I added a brown stem to the Apple to continue with the theme.

***

This is taken to show one of the pages I created for this mini-album.    And finally, the back cover:

Back cover

The coloring in the photo is not the greatest.  Shows up as blueish when it's actually green plaid design paper from my paper stash.  Added the leaf to the top.

The above pages, except for the orange one, is cut out of poster board (my substitute for chipboard - my Silhouette Cameo will cut poster board!)  Than I covered the poster board with colored card stock from my stash of card stock.  I had bound this with binding rings and my Cinch binding system, but I just was not comfortable with it, so opted for the book rings which can be a blessing - they can be open up to add more Apple shape pages.

Thank you for stopping be to visit with me, and hugs to all of you xoxo.

Rainy Days Digi 1

Here it is middle August, and normally hot and dry, but we're having a good share of rain this year which I will not complain about as it's cooler outside.  And I won't have to water the flowers and new tree seedlings every day like last year.

I used the image, Rainy Days Digi 1 from Scrapper's Delights Store and here is what you actually receive in this download.

I mostly used my Sukura gel pens for coloring this image, except for the water puddle and the umbrella.  The rain coat and hat Sukura gel pens, the hair and umbrella I used Spectrum Noir markers, and the water puddle was colored with Copics.  I merge the sentiment "Jump for Joy" into my Silhouette Studio DE software, ungrouped and placed Joy on a second line in order to punch out.  Oh yes, the rain drops are free hand drawn in!

I used a sketch for layering this card.  Design paper from a stash I have on hand, placed three gem stones on right upper corner and one on the side of image.  The sentiment was punched out and foam taped to the right lower corner.

Over at Scrappers Delights Store, for the month of August, there is a 20% coupon.

A project from my stash

I really don't remember where I got this image but found in my stash of projects in progress and decided to finish it.  I had used coloring pencils, and colored the dress pink.  I added pink grosgrain ribbon to the side, and pink gemstones to the corners and to the dress.  Brads in each corners.

Christmas in August

Christmas in August is the theme for this challenge, and this cute snowman jumping around  because he's happy for Christmas.  I embossed a piece of cardstock with winter sentiments and matted the snowman and layered him on the embossed card.  I used Stampin Up ink markers for coloring, and placed gemstones for snowflakes.  The eyes, mouth and one button was colored in with Sukura Gel pens.  I stamped sentiment and placed in corner of ma.

Stop on over at The Stamping Chef  and play along with us in this challenge.  Thank you for stopping by and blessings to you all.

PCDC Embossing - of any type

I am excited with the announcement of joining the Design Team at Pattie's Creations Design Challenges and looking forward to loads of fun with the team.

For my first card for the Design Team I chose Bloomin Bucket and the theme is Embossing - of any type.  I embossed the mat and placed the layered image on top of the embossed mat. (Embossing folder is from Cuttlebug by Provo Craft).   I colored the image with Copic markers, and stamped 'thinking of you' in the bucket.  Placed a black and white checkered ribbon across the bucket .

Join us at Pattie's Creations Design Challenges with your creation, and while there take a look at fellow team members work.

Under the Sea

Today is the start of our latest new release!

I first printed a background from Silhouette Cameo DE using the Fill Gradient window, using blue.  I printed the Ship's wheel onto the newly created background along with Nerissa the Mermaid gazing at a Pearl in the shell.  The Pearl in the shell and the shells in the corner are from the Under the Sea collection.  I used various ink markers along nail polish in glittery gray for the pearl(s).  Added a ribbon banner to the left side, and the sentiment stamped from a Stampin Up set called Happy Harmony.  Added gem stones to the center of wheel and small ones in the center of the two spokes to represent more pearls.

Kraftie Kre8ations Design Team newst member - ME

Kraftie Kre8ations is proud to have this opportunity to introduce our "new design team" members.   We have a talented group of ladies starting this month.  Here is there opportunity to introduce themselves and for us to allow them to truly shine.  Just wait until you see what they have to show you on this hop!

Our sponsor for this hop is

 *****************************

Carolyn here as one of new members on the Design Team for Kraftie Kre8ations which is found Here and for this Hop I have ask to create ATC's that shows who I am and what my style is.  And I will be answering a few questions about my style - what I like or don't like, etc.

My very first ATC project ever.  Using my Silhouette Studio DE program, I merged this png image of a bird cage to the mat, and placed  it onto the Silhouette file of a printed page.  Than I stamped a butterfly onto the cage along with  flowers on two corners; and the sentiment 'Hello" along the edge.  The Bird is a file I have in my personal stash that I re-sized and cut out and set approximately the branch.

*************

A recent project I completed:

I just completed this card for my collection.  I love creating cards because I can use so many designs or styles.  This one I embossed the mat and than layered two more mats with the digi stamp printed on the top mat.  I colored with various markers as I do no have big collection of one i.e. Copics.  I did use Copic and Stampin Up ink markers with this image.

***************
What is your scrapbook "kryptonite"? (What style/color/etc. will people never see on your creations because you cannot deal with it???)

Answer:  this question is hard to answer!  When it comes to borders for my pages, I would like them  to come straight across the page.  When cutting a file for a border, it frustrates me to have to re-do  the file on the virtual mat so it will cut correctly.  Waste a lot of minutes when I have to re-do a file to my liking.  I won't use glitter on my scrap pages as I'm not into to much glitter; unless I find that it's needed for popping it.

***************

This is my 2nd recent project that I just completed. I love to create mini-albums and really happy to have the project turn out great as this one seem to be - for me anyhow.  It is title 'Hangin Out' with three or four pages after the front cover, the center page and between the center section and back page.  I used my Cinch to bind the album, and so proud of how it came out.  But when I create another album, I will bind after the title is placed.  All cardstock and design paper from my personal stash.  I also added butterflies using a 3-punch butterfly punch.

**************

What do you listen to or watch while you're scrapping and WHY?

Answer:  mostly the t.v. is on for background noise, as quiet 'bugs' me.  LOL  Once my sister goes back to work, I will play my Country Music as I love Country and it perks me up.  I enjoy listening  to more of the modern Country musicians while my sister enjoys the older (1960's) Country
entertainers.

*************

This is a scrap book layout that I created for my granddaughter's scrapbook.  The 12x12 mat is a cut of  a scalloped edge with design paper from my stash.  The sentiment is a cut file I downloaded from unknown website (can't remember!!) and when I seen the sentiment I immediately thought of my granddaughter, who in this photo is ready for her first school dance.  I also cut the doiley with my Cameo.

**************

How do you jump start your creativity when you find that is is missing?

Answer:  hummm - I know, before I went on vacation back in May/June my creative juices was slow.  By taking some time off and doing for myself I was ready to get back to work on my projects
especially working on a mini-album for my grandson's senior year in high school.  When walking the  dog in the mornings I will be thinking about what I have to create for the design teams I am on, and
what shape or design to create for that particular project.  I get up away from the computer to work on another project or relax for a few minutes.

At what time of day are you most creative, or do you prefer to create?

Answer:  I'm most productive in the mornings, before lunch time.  Creating files for my store is done when an idea pops into my head.  I can create a card base (i.e. easel cards) in one setting, or a mini- album at another setting.  Sunday's devoted to voluntarily work on another website/blog which can be 3-4 hours in duration.

****************

I enjoy creating scrap book layouts for my grandchildren.  And grandson played football all four years of high school.

My favorite  projects would be card making with a close 2nd of scrapbooking.  Creating ATC's was out of my 'comfort zone'.  I have so many scrapbooks in progress, I sometimes feel over whelmed, but take it one at time.
****************

What is your favorite technique(s) to use right now and why?  What are some tried and true techniques you love to use?

Answer:  Coloring techniques - I normally color with  ink markers but plan to use a new technique as I was reading a blog where someone use nail polish for coloring..  Would like to try this
especially since I live in an area where I have to travel over an hour to visit a known craft store for
supplies.  Another technique I use is creating my labels, punches, etc with my Silhouette Cameo.  I
have tried using bleach in my crafting along with chalk.  I about use it all when or where I can. Tried
true techniques:  coloring with ink markers (and sometimes watercoloring using the ink markers) is
what I usually use.  I love shape cards and will try creating a different shape card when the design/digi will work into the project.  I will read blogs about different techniques and try them out and if they work, will use again.  But if they don't work for me, I only use it once.  I love pop-up cards and will create a project (in fact, just thinking of pop up cards has given me an idea for the next project here!)

Here is the "hopping" order:
