Purse Album

This is a Purse Album I created for the weekly challenge over at Creative Kuts.  Each week we complete a project which they call BAP (Build a Project), by Sunday and post it on their fan page on Facebook.  Than they put together a video of the submissions showcasing every one's work. 

Here is my first Purse Album for my granddaughter, Kassidy, using chipboard for the inside of the purse, and the paper used is from Close To My Heart that I had in my stash of paper.  The flower was printed out from my files where I used Stampin Up ink markers in orange and over layed the flower with Antique Distress Ink. I also stamped her first and last name initial on a white circle cardstock which was glued to a chipboard and that layered on scalloped chipboard circle and using foam dimensional to pop it up on the album front. I added fake jewels on each corner of the flap. The handle was made from chipboard with a small flower, the same as the front flower, to each end.

It was a fun project to create...I have the 2nd one in progress which I will complete tomorrow and post to Creative Kuts Fan pape on Facebook, as well as here.

Another Mother's Day card

Potato plants Kassidy and I planted

When my son and family was visiting with us this past March/April, 2012 my 8 yr old granddaughter Kassidy and I planted potatoes in our small garden..we made the hole and inserted the potato seedling in the hole and than covered it. 

 

Yeah, I know u believe me to be loosing my mind, but this is on of those Kodak moments to remember...Grandma and granddaughter spending time together ... playing and working.  She also helped me water plants and her sister Alexis helped her Aunt Ellie to pull weeds....

Bling Challenge at Platypus Creek

Go on over to My Creative Place for the Bling Challenge .... and you will find some awesome work from talented people...one design is .... "drum roll"  ....

 

Now, to be honest, unless one of my cards need something to 'pop' it out, I don't usually stickles or glitter but I did add stickles to the butterflies which u can just barely see.  I added buttons to the center of the flowers which I hope that would pass as bling!!!  This was a fun card to create..would like to donate it to Operation Write Home but being there is glitter/stickles on the card, won't be able to.... (Thank you to Danie May for reminding me of this.)

.... I have postings done for this coming Monday...I feel miserable, and ready to go back to bed for the day.  Sinus infections/headaches suck....and no 24 hr care here in Scottsboro...just the so-called E.R. at the local hospital and don't want to pay their prices!!

Son-in-law's B-day card

 Both the inside and outside of the birthday card.  The broom on the inside is a private joke between my son-in-law and myself. 

The card base for this project was obtained from Stamping School by Linda Heller,  Stampin! Up Demonstrator Executive, Florida...but to be quite honest there might even be a tutorial over at Splitcoasterstampers under resources typing in Z-Card.  The scalloped rectangle is my attempt and not a very good one, plus the broom is from Make the Cut library.  Paper on front .... well.... u will have to e-mail me for the file ... cmsmith46580@gmail.com.....

Extra File to share for this week

Good morning...I was looking for a broom in my files, and found this oval tag with roses on each end, and  decided to work it up with a jpeg file for those who would like to print and color the roses.

This zip file includes svg, mtc, scut and jpeg/ai formats for your personal use only.  Part of the reason for the inclusion of jpeg file is that I am not sure how the cut files will cleanly cut out.  And I would use Inkscape to insert a sentiment in the center, save as a png, place file onto mat in Sure Cuts A Lot, (or for those that use Make the Cut for cutting purposes, follow the procedures for that software)  and than print and cut...printing the oval with roses, and cutting out the mat.

Later today I will post my son-in-law's birthday card .....he should get a kick out of it...hee,hee.

Water Can Card #1

Here is my entry to the weekly challenge at  Creative Kuts using a Watering Can.  This one I am sending to my step-daughter for Mother's Day and have 2 more started...just waiting on the photos from CVS b/4 I finish them!

Check with Creative Kuts on Facebook for the next challenge image sometime on Monday (you have to have your e-mail request in by Tuesday sometime (they claimed I was late, even though I had my request in by Tuesday!!) in order to participate in the challenge.)  Sorry, had to vent a little there!!

Goldfinches eating at bird feeder

I was just texting to my step-daughter that I was waiting on the Goldfinches to stop by the feeders, and than looked out the kitchen window, and they have arrived.....I admit, I am a bird watcher and feed the birds.  There was one hummingbird that visited the feeder....that's where my sister made me think she was having a heart attack when she seen the little one, and exclaimed about it....lol  I didn't get a pic of the hummingbird...yet.

 

Of course, our next project is to get some trees planted out by the garden...along the property line.

My DT project for Platypus Creeks

As I had announced I am a member of the Platypus Creek Design Team, using her SVG files, and created this card this weekend using her Scalloped Lacy Egg die cut, and Easter Josie digi using the Print N Cut technique with my Cricut..had to trim off a little white above the head with scissors!  I used my Koh-I-Noor coloring pencils for the coloring.  The card base had been trimmed vertically and scalloped and attached string to the side.  The die cut and attached digi was placed in center using pop-ups.  I did ink the edges with Tea distressed ink.

The card can be used for a birthday card, or as someone stated on Facebook as a seed packet cover.  If u do that, you would have to attached the edge...
