Challenge #12 Traditional Christmas in July

Boy am I glad July's almost over...Christmas cards nice to have available when I am ready to mail, but need a break!! lol.

I created two cards....

 PCDS-053 Hannah's Snowman
available at Platypuse Creek Digitals

I print and cut Hannah's Snowman three times. Placed one of the smaller size on one card where I placed a oval template over the front of the cardstock and sponged blue, hoping to give it the illusion of a sky.  Stamped snow flackes, and stamped a winter tree scene in left corner of oval.  Colored the hat goldenrod by Prisma Watercoloring pencil, and used Red and Green Stampin Up markers on scarf and used the goldenrod pencil as well.  The coal eyes, mouth and buttons all colored over with a black gel pen plus the arms.

On the second card, I changed the direction of the card, and since my Silhouette Cameo has a 'problem' with cutting real small pieces (i.e. the smaller Hannah Snowman is missing a tree arm!) but placed her on foam to give her some depth and Han's (my name) is glued to cardstock.  I placed a stamped sentiment in two different places.

I enjoyed working on this card, and check out the website link under the photo.  Check out the challenge going on at http://www.platypuscreekdigitals.blogspot.com.

Thank you for stopping by and hugs to all.

WEEKLY BAP (FREEBIE)

This is copied from Creative Kuts blog:

Weekly BAP (Freebie)

Every week, on Mondays, at Creative Kuts fan page and groups we do a new project and everyone is invited to play.   It is called a BAP (Build A Project).  All you have to do is watch for the post Monday and send an email request to bap@creativekuts.com.  We will send you the cut file FREE.  You read that right.  FREE!!!

All requests must be in by Tuesday 10am pst to play along for the week.  You just have to show us your finished project with that file by Sunday 5pm pst by posting on the Creative Kuts fan page or in our facebook group pages Creative Kuts Posts or Las Chicas Creative Kuts.

Make sure you get your projects posted by the deadline each week (Sunday 5pm pst) so you can play again the next week.  Hope you play along with us each week!!!

Eva will make & post a video of all the beautiful finished projects of everyone who played along that week.

**NOTE**
We love when you take the file and show the versatility of the file.  And just so there are no mis-understandings or confusions, please refrain from changing the elements of the file contents while creating whatever project you would like.  When we give a character we give you the freedom to do what projects you want to do with the idea of keeping the elements the same.  Also goes for when we say we are doing a card, we expect a card.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us.

Happy Crafting!!

Come and join us in the fun.  We're working on a new project this week...Noel Waterfall Card.

Thank you for stopping by, and hugs to all.

BAP #26 Video

BAP #26 - Christmas Theme

Good morning...over here at Creative Kuts Fan Page we have been working on Christmas In July themes...and this week's project was a card using a little girl image with three rectangles elements, plus the label-tag that the girl was placed on.  After about 5 card bases, and a lot of frustration and tears, I finally came up with this design...

BAP #26- Christmas in July

Originally used black pearl beads to cover up boo-boos, but Cheryl pointed out that white beads would look like falling snow...sooo went into my stash and used the white gems and replaced all the black beads with the white and it does give it some appearance of falling snow.

Please stop on over at Creative Kuts Fan Page to see what other cool work is being displayed by the Design Team members and fans.  Each Monday a new BAP comes out, you become a  follower of Creative Kuts and request the next file and play along with the rest of us.  We have created mini-albums, and scrapbook page layouts, and this is the first card as Cheryl just started up a Card Design Team which I am the leader of...

Thank you for stopping by, and hope to see you all over at Creative Kuts on Facebook.  Hugs to all.

Things with Wings

Another challenge over at Platypus Creek Digitals starting today... Things With Wings.  My design is Ulysses Butterfly found here

Ulysses Butterfly

I printed the butterfly digi and inked in  with orange, and used Smooch Pearlized Accent paint over the orange coloring...Layered the butterfly on top of a circle.  I used washi tape with butterflies across the center of card, and used two butterfly iron-on brads (I glued them in place) for bling.  The label tag is stamped with yet another butterfly and twine tied at the end.

Please join us in this week's challenge...would love to see your work.  Thank you for stopping by and hugs to all....

Homespun Affair Challenge

I am entering this in the challenge at A Homespun Affair

Digital Stamp used in this card is from Sweet Stamping Treats (no longer in business).  I zig-zagged stitch each edge of the pieces, used markers for coloring.  Place two red brads in two corners and a black bead over the e in hello (made a boo-boo and covered with a bead!).

Thank you for visiting with me this evening, and hugs to all.

Going to the Beach

I've been working on a Family Fun Mini-album and used the Beach Icons from Platypus Creek Digitals which will be available at Platypus Creek Digitals later today.  I used the umbrella, flip-flops and sun from her cut file design...

I will be using the album to show off my granddaughters at the ocean-side beach in Korea...once I find the pics!!  Swimsuit is a trinket I purchased at the local scrapbook store, and shell was found in the library on my Make the Cut software.   Paper sources from a stash I purchased at the local scrapbook store.  I inked all around the edges of the album page plus the individual pieces with Tim Holtz Distress Ink-Tea Dye.

Thank you for visiting with me today, and hugs to all of you.

Decisions to be made

I have noticed with my 4-Scalloped Squares file that it has been previewed more than downloaded so have removed the file, and will be replaced with another alphabet file....once I have all the cut file formats finished.

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me, and hugs to all.

Challenge time over

at Platypus Creek Digitals.  The theme this time is Three Buttons and One Bow.  I used a image from Platypus Creek Digitals Store for the card...the Hatter's Flower Pot and since it had the sentiment 'feel better' on the hat, I made this into a get well card, which is on it's way to my granddaughter in Indiana now!  One of favorite colors is lavender/purple so used it for the base of the card, plus coloring the dots in the photo

I created the card base in Make the Cut software, welded the blackout of the Hatter's Flower Pot to the base and hand cut the image out (me & PnC technigue not working well together!!!).  Used my daubler to create the polka-dots on the base and used a sentiment from the DRS Store and inside I used a stamp I had on hand....'hugs and kisses'.

Stop by Platypus Creek Digitals and check out the design team members work and participate in the challenge.  Thank you for visiting with me today, and hugs to all.
