My Last project for Dutch Dare

This is my last project for Dutch Dare DT as a Guest Designer and I have really enjoyed myself this past month...

Here is my project for Thursday, Dec. 27th ... Celebration

Challenge: Celebration (New Year, new baby, birthday, new house, engagement...any reason to celebrate!
Sponsor: Crafty Sentiments

A new baby is cause for celebration as it will be for my granddaughter and husband as they're expecting their 2nd child, a girl anytime now.  And this care represents that ... if only the child looking into the crib had been a boy!!!  Than it would show my great-grandson, Carson looking down at his sister... :-)

I used my Silhouette Studio Designing edition to print and cut the image, and printed the sentiment using my Abode Photoshop Elements 7.

Thank you stopping by, and hugs to all.

Crop-on-Line...HOHOHO Santa Layout

HoHoHo Santa Layout

Crop-on-Line from http://www.creativekuts.com

A layout I just completed using cut files from http://www.creativekuts.com.  This is to encourage us to complete a layout for the scrapbooks we are working on.  This will probably go into either my granddaughter, Kassidy's scrapbook, or for my great-grandson, Carson's scrapbook.  But...I plan to create the same pages for each grandchild.

Cardstock used from Stampin! UP, Close to My Heart, and pack of card stock I purchased at Joann Fabrics .  The Christmas tag obtained from digitalscrapbookexperts.com through the Premium Club.

I really enjoyed completing this project...

Another candle

A Candle with Santa ...

Entered in Challenge #33 at http://thesquirrelandthefox.blogspot.com/

Thank you for visiting with me, and hugs to all.

A double project for Dutch Dare Card Challenges

I created two projects for Dutch Dare Card Challenges this week as I completely forgot to work up this project and have posted by yesterday.  So...following the instructional tutorial that I copied and pasted to my blog yesterday on how to create the candle using a stamped image stamped on tissue paper, and than cut around the image carefully.  Layer the image and wax-paper onto the candle, and carefully use your heat gun to attach the image to the candle.  In the meantime, I etched a double heart onto a mirrored glass plate and set the candle on it.  Also, the challenge for this week was to use a image with snowflakes on it, and you can barely see the snowflakes I attached to the candle (due to the sun shining in the window, was hard to take a good picture showing more of the snowflakes.)

I created the gift-card holder using a snowflake on the front.  The face stamp is from Peachy Keen Stamps and I just love those stamps.  Will be using them alot in my work. And attached two small snowflakes with a bead in the center of each.

Thank you for stopping by and hugs to all.

Noel Card

Few weeks ago Ann created these word mats, and I took it one step further and made a small card with it. I took the word and blacked it out, and created a card base. The word is added to the top of card along with holly and berries and a stamped sentiment. Oh yes, the snowflake paper is actually tissue paper that you use to wrap gifts in a bag with...I cut it to size I wanted and ran thru my sticker maker machine and than added to top of card base...like washi tape (read somewhere that you can use tissue paper for tape purposes)....
Thank you for stopping by and hugs to all.

Guest Designer at Dutch Dare - December

Christmas - Non-traditional colors.

I have been selected to be a guest designer at Dutch Dare and we are to create for this

Challenge: Non Traditional Christmas colors-  think Pinks and blues and silvers and gold and something other than red and green
Sponsor: Pattie's Creations
I used an image by Pattie's creations, a Polar Bear within a snowglobe, which I loaded into my SCAL3 software and created a easel card base.  Attached the image to the easel pieces and presto...I easel card to mail to a family member or friend for the holidays.  I cut out the base of the snowglobe and cut this out on designer paper.  Attached two snowflakes with a blue brad to enable the printed Polar Bear snowglobe to stand up for display.  Printed out Happy Holidays and used my Stampin! Up Paper Punch and added the sentiment to the bottom edge.
In the inside of the card I can insert a circle with the sentiment of choice and than mail the card.  Thank you for visiting with me, and until next week, when I post another creation, hugs to all.

Holiday Tags Set

PP-Holiday Tag Set

Card:  I first created a Gate-fold card base with a scalloped circle joined on the right edge.  Than I cut out the circle and Stocking and placed in the scalloped circle.  I placed gem stones in each scallop and placed a ribbon on the edge.

Tags....I joined two scalloped circles together to create a small card/tag for Christmas gift tags.  I than cut out each piece...i.e. reindeer, gingerbread, stocking, tree, snowman and candy cane and place in a cut out circle and adhered to the scalloped circle.  I didn't take pictures of the inside of the tages, but I stamped To and From in a white circle and stamped a snowflake below the sentiment.  The Holiday Tag Set can be purchased at

Platypus Creek Digitals Challenge....

Challenge #21 Christmas Card - Floral

Cut file used from:  platypuscreekdigitals.com (click on link and will take you directly to the cut file)

I created a Gate-fold card for this project, and combined one item from another source...the leaves which was attached to a rectangle.  Folded both ends in to form the gate-fold card.  Than cut out the Poinsettia Floral and placed on the leaves.  Card opens to the folded side with a stamped sentiment placed on the card.  I placed a strip of designer paper down the inside edge to cover the ribbon I had attached to the fron of the card.  The ribbon on front was placed over the same strip of paper to give it some dimension.  Inside center I placed a white card stock to stamp a sentiment or write a message.

Thank you for stopping by and hugs to all.

This week's challenger is Fab Folds....

This week's challenge is Fab Folds so I used the following image :

Making a List digital stamp

from:  Stamp-n-doodle.com with a Z-Fold card.

Quickly colored in the image, two brads in the top corners and some string attached to the bottom.  You won't be able to see it because of the way I took the picture, but I applied paper to the back side of the z-fold and than another paper to inside.  Applied brown cardstock to inside back of card and a white piece over that for the sentiment.

Please stop by http://stamp-n-doodle.blogspot.com/ for this week's challenge which begins today, and join in the fun.

Thank you for stopping by, and hugs to all.

PP-Chibi Snowflakes

PP-Chibi Snowflakes.

This cut file is a cute file...and I used the following Peachy Keen Face stamps on them...

PK-548 1 1/4" Snow Faces for the left Snowflake.

PK-643 Boy Mates 1 1/8" Stamp for the right Snowflake.

Both face stamps can be purchased at Peachy Keen Stamps

I cut out using my Silhouette Cameo...when ordering the Snowflake file the face comes with a Kawaii face which if broke apart, and created a plain circle to allow me to stamp the face on.

These are simple and nothing fancy tags for gifts or can be used as a small thank you card.

The snowflake file is for MAILING LIST subscribers ONLY.  Please sign up for the weekly newsletter prior to midnight Friday to receive the newsletter and you will be able to select the FREE files each week.  Sign up for the newsletter at http://svgcuttingfiles.blogspot.com

21st November - Spotlight on Lauren Curtis - Anything Goes

Here is my spotlight on a drawing of Lauren Curtis in the Anything Goes challenge at

Using my Bic Markers, I colored the Turkey and Fall items, layered onto a black piece of card stock.  Took some baker twine and wrapped around the end 3 times, and than attached the layers to the base. A simple card and quick to work up.

The digi image is available from:

Also there is a 50% off sale of digi items for Black Friday at their store.

Thank you for visiting with me, and hugs to all; and a Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Chibi Penquins

This week has gone by fast and time for another posting of Ann's great cut files...

with this set I created gift tags using the Chibi Penquins, both boy and girl.  The girl I cut out a tree ornament to set her on.  Stamped snow flakes on the sides of each penguin.   On the card, which is a Z-Fold card, I used design paper with a winter theme on the front and the inside of the first fold.

For the face, I used

PK-493 Everyday Character Face Parts 3" to 4"

With the Chibi Penquin Boy I cut out a scalloped circle, and also used a pieced from the cut file

Snowman Tags and stamped snow flakes on the two sides.

Both files are available from

Here is another picture of the Chibi Penquin cut file:

Christmas Card

Come and join us at:

And this is my DT submission:

North Pole cut file available at:  Cut and Create Store

I took the North Pole cut file and created a shape card, placing the shadowed blackout of the pole and snowbank to a square and created a 8.5" x 5.5" card base.  Using the pieces from the cut file I layered them onto the shadowed blackout.  I used Frosted Lace Stickles on the pole and snowbank.  Added a cloud from the SCAL3 Library to the inside of card, placing at top behind the pole.  I used a small piece of design paper with snowflakes for the side, and stamped snowflakes on inside of card.  When I get ready to mail card to a friend or family member, I will stamp a sentiment on the inside of card.  Happy Holidays to all..."

Thank you for stopping by, and Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Christmas Bows/Ribbon and Buttons Challenge

Check out the challenge at http://www.platypuscreekdigitals.blogspot.com and come and join us.

Here is my creation....one ribbon across the top of card with the sentiment added that is a print and cut creation that I used my Silhouette Studio Designing Edition and Cameo.  The poinsettia is the Christmas Florals set from

I created the card base using Make the Cut software and the Boolean  Join option to create the cut out in the card base.  Than used Inkscape to create the fold line for the card base.

I added the three buttons and inserted a brad in the center of the flower. Using my distressed tool I recently purchased, I rough up the edges along some of the petals..  but I am glad the picture is dark enough that you're not able to see the boo-boo ... was trying to ink the edges with some paint I had and did not like the results ... :-)  Otherwise I am happy with the over-all results of this project...what do you think?

Thank you for stopping by, and hugs to all.

Happy Thanksgiving to all....

Another French Fry Box

PP-French Fry Box

Another version of the French Fry Box that I created this afternoon.  I scalloped the top edge of the box and place a circle label in front of the scalloped edge with a scalloped edge on the back of the box. Print and cut the circle using Silhouette Studio Designing Edition and the Cameo.

I used the pumpkin and leaf vine from http://www.creativekuts.com from on of their files, I believe
the Harvest Girl Bear, place on a oval and adhered to the front of box.  Wrapped a bakers twine around the bottom edge.  I will try to use a band to wrap around the box as part of the decoration...just haven't quite figured it out yet.

Thank you for stopping by and hugs to all.

Re-posting of Sign Language card

Sign Language Card

was created back in June, 2012 for my granddaughters, Alexis and Kassidy.  It is a layered front with the hands signing I Love You.  I brought the hand over into the inside of the card, making a pop-up with the heart and word 'you'...inserting a picture of myself, once again for the granddaughters in Korea.

I received the cut file from

as a freebie in June, 2012 as part of test cut project.  I love this file and it was great to cut out with my machine.
